MCR Safety Ground Breaking Announcement
Memphis, TN – June 28, 2012: Shelby Group International is pleased to announce the expansion of MCR Safety headquarters and state-of-the-art distribution center. Our thirty-eight years of growth and progress within our industry has made this possible.
The office will be located in Collierville, TN at Schilling Farms and will include 45,000 square feet of Class A office space with ample room for growth to meet our current and future needs. Offices will include expanded facilities for training, product showrooms, and conference center.
The distribution center will be located on 50 acres in Piperton, TN with an initial 500,000 square feet and expansion capabilities to one million square feet. The new facility will allow us to improve our operational efficiency and will house our Innovations Technology Center (ITC) Lab, sample room, and all production and packaging functions.
Henry Coats, Mayor of Piperton, shared that “MCR’s distribution facility will immediately become the cornerstone of Piperton’s industrial complex. MCR fits into our long range industrial growth plan perfectly. They are exactly the type of business partner we want and will continue to pursue. We sincerely appreciate their investment and extend a very warm community welcome to MCR, their employees, and the Crews family.”
Both buildings will be under construction simultaneously with approximate completion Summer 2013.

Hilliard Crews, founder of Shelby Group International, Jason Crews, and Stacy (Crews) McGee participated in the ground breaking ceremonies held at both locations on June 28 with contributions from Collierville and Piperton City Mayors as well as Shelby and Fayette County Mayors. Also in attendance were the MCR Safety management team, local government officials and special guests.
A toast celebrating our progressions in safety included a product demonstration of our new Alycore cut resistant gloves.
