Job Summary

The National Account Sales Manager is responsible for developing growth strategy, accomplishing strategy goals and engaging with a National Account Customer to grow sales. They must display broad knowledge and understanding of MCR Safety products, processes and procedures of distribution channel and end user markets.

Essential Functions
  • Proactively update sales strategies by mining internal reports and customer data to identify trends and areas of incline/decline.
  • Implement marketing strategies to position the MCR Safety brand at the forefront of the customer’s available marketing.
  • Manage promotion activities by designing promo rules, selecting promo products and measuring performance.
  • Carry out defined communication with Key customer personnel: Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Sales Managers, District Managers, Safety Specialists, etc.
  • Engage with customer’s product management to build product strategy for both MCR Safety and private label products.
  • Assist in developing new items through customer surveys, market evaluations and analysis of existing competitors in PPE market.
  • Initiate sales activity in the field by performing MCR 360’s, Joint Sales calls, and Customer-to-MCR sales calls.
  • Maintain daily records of opportunities, calls, and lead information in C4C.
  • Measure customer’s field activity with our Regional Sales Managers and Business Development Specialists by reviewing and verifying pipeline.
  • Meet assigned quotas, sales objectives and behavior goals.
  • Schedule, plan, and manage customer specific trainings.
  • Maintain MCR Safety’s Customer Scorecard and periodically inspect and correct MCR Data within customer’s computer system.
  • Coordinate communications with other departments for proper handling of customer accounts, such as EDI, Warehouse, Traffic, Invoicing, Purchasing, Marketing, and Accounts Receivable.
  • Focus on becoming the product expert in your product category by attending trainings, gaining experience from your customers, reading trade journals and studying the competition.
  • Participate in distributor training in a manner which is both articulate and informative.
  • Maintain positive attitude and open-line of communication with co-workers and customers both internal and external.
  • Attend sales meetings and product trainings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of: Sales and marketing techniques, oral presentation skills, computer operations, order procedures, outbound selling, proper phone etiquette and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to: Communicate effectively, handle multiple tasks, follow directions, accomplish goals, analyze situations and make correct decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education (preferred level): High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge/Experience/Skills: At least 2 years of Business to Business sales experience, preferably in the PPE industry, and experience in the manufacturing to distribution model. Strong organizational, interpersonal skills, and communication skills, both verbal and written. Familiar with Microsoft office, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Sales: 2 years (Preferred)
