Due to this construction, it can achieve a military ballistic level impact resistance at over 1000 feet per second. The TPU material allows the frame to flex and fit individual faces from large to small. All ForceFlex® safety glasses meet military MIL-PRF-31013 clause 220.127.116.11 for high velocity impact protection and exceed ANSI Z87+. Our Duramass® lens coating is a clear hard coat that provides additional scratch resistance to select glasses, goggles, and face shields.
High velocity impact safety glass test method is performed by shooting a 1/4" steel ball at a speed of 150 feet per second aimed at the center of the lens. The result is a Pass or Fail which determines that a lens must not chip, break, or crack and it must maintain its original position in the frame.
