About GISA - The Manufacturing Power Behind MCR Safety Group

A Legacy That Led to Something Bigger

MCR Safety originated as Memphis Glove in the 1970s with a clear mission: to protect workers with reliable products. As the company’s capabilities advanced, Mexico became an integral part of this progression, including investments in string knit manufacturing in Puebla and expanded yarn and glove manufacturing operations in San Luis Potosí

Concurrently, another company in Mexico was on its own path. Guantes Internacionales, established in 1986, focused on engineered glove manufacturing, specializing in precision knitting, material innovation, and coating technologies. Over time, the company expanded its capabilities across cut-resistant, coated, and high-performance glove categories, building a reputation for technical expertise and consistent quality in industrial applications.

Today, these two manufacturing paths unite under the GISA brand within MCR Safety Group, following the acquisition of Guantes Internacionales in 2025—integrating legacy production expertise with advanced engineering into a single, cohesive system that delivers flexible solutions, consistent quality, and reduced lead times. Looking ahead, GISA represents the evolution of MCR Safety Group manufacturing, built on decades of experience, reinforced through strategic investment, and strengthened by a nearshore platform in Mexico.

The GISA Brand

GISA operates as a dedicated division within MCR Safety Group, uniquely serving the Mexican market through specialized teams and direct customer engagement. More importantly, GISA is the foundation that gives MCR Safety Group distinct value: in-house control over material development, process consistency, and scalable production—all focused on delivering reliable hand and arm protection.

While customers across North America may never directly interact with GISA, its presence underscores MCR Safety Group's manufacturing backbone—denoting direct manufacturing capability rather than reliance on external sourcing. This operational foundation ensures product quality, supports ongoing innovation, and strengthens the capabilities that define MCR Safety Group.

A Nearshore Manufacturing Platform in Action

GISA manufacturing connects raw materials to finished products through a controlled, end-to-end process. Spanning key regions across Mexico, this network enables MCR Safety Group to operate near our served markets while maintaining quality, efficiency, and production control.

At the core of this platform are three interconnected capabilities:

  • Puebla, Mexico – Cotton regeneration and yarn production
Recycled cotton is transformed into high-quality spun yarn, forming the foundation for vertically integrated manufacturing.

  • San Luis Potosí, Mexico – High-volume glove knitting operations
Advanced knitting infrastructure produces millions of gloves at scale with consistent performance and reliability.

  • Toluca Region (GISA / Guantes Internacionales) – Engineered manufacturing
Specialized capabilities in the region include coating technologies, engineered yarns, and sleeve (arm protection) production, supporting high-performance, multi-hazard solutions.

This platform is supported by ISO-certified processes, ensuring consistency, traceability, and performance across operations. Together, these facilities operate as a coordinated system—supporting production across the Americas while improving speed, reliability, and supply chain responsiveness.

Expanding What We Can Build

MCR Safety’s manufacturing foundation was built on cotton string knit and high-performance fiber gloves. GISA broadens this into more advanced capabilities.

Strengthening Our Global Model

GISA represents a significant expansion of MCR Safety Group’s manufacturing capabilities; however, it is not the entirety of the company’s global model. The company continues to operate directly owned facilities, including those established through the 2019 NXG initiatives, and maintains a global sourcing network with products manufactured and supplied worldwide.

What GISA adds is balance.

Enhancing our nearshore manufacturing, GISA increases our flexibility and responsiveness and reduces our reliance on overseas supply chains in key categories.

This expanded capability allows us to better serve customers across North and South America by:

  • Reducing dependence on overseas supply chains in critical categories

  • Improving flexibility in responding to shifts in demand

  • Strengthening supply continuity across North America

  • Supporting faster replenishment and shorter lead times

These capabilities collectively reinforce a more resilient and adaptable supply chain, thereby enhancing the global sourcing strategy without supplanting it.

The Bigger Picture

Within MCR Safety Group, the GISA name signifies more than branding; it denotes manufacturing capability.

It reflects our continued investment in how products are made, our commitment to controlling quality and performance, and our ability to deliver protection closer to the markets we serve. GISA is the foundation behind our expanding presence across the Americas—and a key driver of what comes next.

GISA is not solely a production facility; it represents how MCR Safety Group continues to advance its manufacturing leadership.
